Ken Levine

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Actuary

Ken Levine brings 34 years of expertise in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry, including 24 years in executive leadership roles at Nationwide, one of the top P&C insurers in the country.

Ken joined Nationwide in 1996 and held key leadership roles, including CFO and Chief Actuary. From 2015 to 2019, he served as Vice President and CFO for several of Nationwide’s specialty P&C segments, including E&S/Specialty, Agribusiness, Specialty Insurance, and Pet Insurance, managing nearly $6 billion in annual direct written premiums (DWP). From 2006 to 2015, Ken was Vice President and Chief Actuary for Nationwide’s E&S/Specialty business, where he played a pivotal role in driving profitable growth.

During his tenure, Ken helped launch Freedom Specialty Insurance Company and Crestbrook Insurance Company and completed the acquisition of a major management liability program (E-Risk). Beyond his core responsibilities as CFO and Chief Actuary, he led a wide array of corporate functions, including Marketing Analytics, Business Continuity, Corporate Philanthropy, Corporate Strategy, and Learning Resources.

In earlier roles, Ken led a program office that transitioned Nationwide E&S to a customer-centric organization, and in 1996, he began as Director & Actuary before rising to an executive leadership position.

Ken started his insurance career in 1984 as an actuarial analyst at Insurance Services Office (ISO) and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. He has also served as a professor in the Actuarial Program at Arizona State University, sharing his expertise with future leaders in the industry.
